SSS – Requirements

Medical Certificate

A medical certificate is a formal document issued by a licensed physician stating the diagnosis, confinement period, and the member’s inability to work. For sickness benefits, this document is mandatory and must include clear details that justify the number of compensable days.

SSS uses medical certificates to validate claims and prevent fraudulent filings. Incomplete or poorly written certificates may result in denied or reduced benefit approvals.

Members should ensure that their medical certificate contains complete information, legible handwriting, correct dates, and the doctor’s license number. Errors can significantly delay processing or cause outright rejection.
