SSS – Retirement

Retirement Benefit

The Retirement Benefit is the monthly pension or lump-sum amount given to SSS members who permanently stop working due to age. Members may claim as early as age 60 (optional retirement) or automatically at age 65 (technical retirement). To qualify for a monthly pension, the member must have at least 120 posted contributions before the semester of retirement. The pension amount is computed based on salary credits, contribution history, and Credited Years of Service (CYS). Members who lack 120 contributions receive a lump-sum benefit instead. The retirement program provides long-term income support and may include dependent pensions and annual bonuses.
