What is the SSS Benefits for Twins?
Expecting twins and wondering how much you’ll get from the SSS maternity benefitⓘ? You’re not alone! Many moms-to-be ask whether having more than one baby means receiving more financial assistance from the Social Security System (SSS) in the Philippines.
Let’s clear it up for you!
👶 Do You Get Double the Maternity Benefit for Twins?
No.
SSS maternity benefit is per pregnancy, not per baby.
So whether you’re giving birth to one baby or twins (or even triplets) — you will still receive one maternity benefit based on your monthly contributions and salary creditⓘ.
But don’t worry — the benefit amount is still substantial, especially if you’re contributing regularly.
🧮 How Much Can I Get If I’m Having Twins?
The benefit is computed using this formula:
(₱Average Daily Salary Creditⓘ) Ă— (Number of Days of Maternity Leave)
For most deliveries (including twins), the number of days is:
- 105 days for normal or cesarean deliveryⓘ
- 120 days if you are a solo parent
- 60 days for miscarriage or emergency terminationⓘ of pregnancy
📌 Example:
If your average salary creditⓘ is ₱30,000:
- Daily credit: ₱30,000 ÷ 30 = ₱1,000/day
- Maternity benefit: ₱1,000 × 105 = ₱105,000
Even if you’re giving birth to twins, the benefit will still be ₱105,000 — not ₱210,000.
